Can Xarau’s Sports Centre in Cerdanyola del Vallès

This is a building that works and will work in the future without refrigeration or heating systems. Societat Orgànica realised the building thermal test in with temperatures in free evolution (without systems), simulating with the impact on the interior temperature with the existing false ceiling removed.  At the same time, natural light and incident solar radiation were studied.

The study validated the final thermal scenario which took form in the architectural intervention, such as the new roofing solution, the introduction of the skylights, the replacement of north facade windows and the design of solar protections in different orientations.
