Fabián López leads a guided tour in La Lleialtat Santsenca and La Borda housing cooperative

Last 1st March Societat Orgànica‘s partner Fabián López, carried out a guided tour in La Lleialtat Santsenca building and La Borda housing cooperative, the latter currently under construction. The visitors were Margarita de Luxan, Doctor Architect in Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Gloria Gómez, Doctor Architect of UPM and partner of Estudio CC60, and members of  La Col architect cooperative and Societat Orgànica. Societat Orgànica carried out the environmental assessment in both buildings.

The tour started visiting La Lleialtat Santsenca building, located in 31st Olzinelles Street in the neighbourhood of Sants. HArquitectes studio was in charge of the renovation of this historical building where sustainability and balance between the current intervention and the original building were key factors. Currently, La Lleialtat, acts as a civic centre and it is defined as a space for the neighbourhood, with cooperative and popular culture uses.

Next, the tour continued with La Borda, located in 85-89th Constitució Street in La Bordeta. It is a housing project in cession of use created by La Col architect cooperative. In total there will be 28 houses and several community spaces aimed at empowering neighbourhood’s life. This building will become the tallest wooden structure building in Spain and its construction is expected to be completed by next summer.
