Albert Sagrera participates in round table discussion on innovative project Life Reusing Posidonia
Next Thursday, January 11 at 7 pm, the documentary Life Reusing Posidonia will be screened at COAC headquarters in Barcelona. Albert Sagrera, Societat Orgànica’s founding partner, will participate as a speaker at the talk that will be held after the screening.
Life Reusing Posidonia is a LIFE+ project about sustainable construction of public housing in Sant Ferran (Formentera), promoted by IBAVI (Balearic Institute of Housing) in collaboration with the General Directorate of Energy and Climate Change of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands. Societat Orgànica participated in the project offering its environmental consulting services.
The project pursues the construction and monitoring of a prototype consisting of 14 homes of public protection in Formentera. Life Reusing Posidonia aims to demonstrate the feasibility of building a multi-family dwelling building, significantly reducing the ecological footprint associated with the construction process. For this purpose, among other constructive solutions, dry oceanic Posidonia is used as thermal and acoustic insulation. The project promotes the use of this aquatic plant, endemic to the Mediterranean, promoting its rational use for practical purposes, collected on local beaches, and increasing its social interest and presence in the media.
