Future rehabilitation of Can Peguera housing neighbourhood, Nou Barris

Societat Orgànica (SO) collaborates in the future rehabilitation project of Can Peguera housing neighbourhood, carried out by the Barcelona City Council and currently at a development stage.
In this project, Societat Orgànica, takes part of the diagnosis team and works with the objective of identifying opportunities for rehabilitation. In particular, SO carries out out the metabolic diagnosis of this group of houses. The works include the study of environmental vectors with simulations, in situ tests, validation by carrying out interviews and monitoring together with other work teams that also take part of the diagnosis.

The first action is to elaborate a study to identify efficient actions, the residents use habits and the integral management. Based on the knowledge of these three points, a series of objectives are generated.

The proposal is based on RELS methodology (Réhabilitation Énergetique Logements Sociaux). The main innovation of this methodology is the incorporation of human and environmental elements in diagnosis situation and the intervention decisions about the housings to rehabilitate. This fact, notably increases the diagnosis work in socioeconomic and environmental territory, in addition to the usual technical areas.

Can Peguera is located between Turó de la Peira and La Guineueta neighbourhoods and has more than 500 housings. In the past, the neighbourhood was known with the name of its architect: Ramon Albó, who built this group of affordable households in 1929.
